What this policy covers
This policy covers the TaleMandarin website and the order information this site uses for checkout and recovery. TaleMandarin is the name used for this website. Dodo Payments operates the checkout and customer portal and applies its own privacy notices to the information it handles there.
Information involved
Website visits
Our host, Vercel, may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, requested pages, browser details, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and aggregate traffic information, such as referring sites, approximate location, device type, and browser. Page URLs sent to analytics exclude query parameters, including payment references. We do not currently run an advertising tracker, newsletter form, or a separate customer-account database on this site.
Purchases and order recovery
At checkout, you provide contact, billing, and payment details to Dodo Payments. This site creates a checkout session using the product selected on our server. After a return from checkout, our server may request the payment status, order reference, and checkout email from Dodo to verify the order and open a customer-portal session. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
How information is used
We use the limited information above to operate and secure the website, understand which pages are visited, start a purchase, verify its status, help you reopen a confirmed order, and diagnose errors or misuse. We do not use checkout information for a TaleMandarin marketing mailing list.
Cookies and local storage
When checkout starts, this site sets an HttpOnly cookie that ties the checkout session to the browser. It can remain for up to 90 days and helps prevent someone else from using an order reference to view your order. After a confirmed payment, this browser may also save the payment reference in local storage so the Orders page can find it again. You can remove that reference by clearing this site's browser data. If it is unavailable, you can use Dodo's email-based customer portal instead.
Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Dodo Payments may use its own cookies or similar technologies on checkout and portal pages under its policies. This site does not currently set advertising cookies.
Who handles information
Vercel hosts and helps secure this website and provides aggregated Web Analytics. Dodo Payments processes the transaction, tax and fraud checks, receipts, delivery email, and access to the digital files. Information is shared with these providers only as needed for those functions, or when disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal information. Dodo's handling of checkout and payment data is governed by its own notices and buyer terms presented during checkout.
Retention and security
The checkout cookie expires after up to 90 days; the locally saved payment reference remains until you clear this site's data. TaleMandarin does not keep a separate customer database. Vercel and Dodo Payments retain the information they process according to their own policies and applicable obligations. We use server-side credentials and restrict order lookup to the browser that began checkout, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed outside your country by these providers.
Access and requests
For a purchase or download, use the Orders page and Dodo's Customer Portal. Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning information held by TaleMandarin or Dodo Payments. Requests about Dodo's checkout and payment records should be made through Dodo's support channels. A dedicated TaleMandarin contact address has not yet been published; the Contact page will be updated when one is available.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this page when the website, its providers, or our data practices change. The current version and its update date will appear here.
